Started on the Chinese style top today. Only got the body cut out. Had to modify the front because the pattern I bought didn't have an open front. =P But there's two ways I can do this overall:
First - allow it to open in the front. Which would mean lots of velcro, on the shirt and the clasps. Not sure if I can find velcro circles small enough for the clasps so that will take some doing. Means a bit more hand sewing, more fabri-tac and lots of velcro.
Second - Permanently place a modesty piece and make the shirt pull on and off like a normal shirt. Only use one small piece of velcro at the top to allow for head room. Clasps would be permanently attached as well.
Ultimately I think #2 will make the wearer happier. Makes me feel craftier too from a creative stand point. I'll tackle some stitching after dinner and/or tomorrow night after chemo.
Last chemo tomorrow! (For a while anyway.) ^^
